Westfield is a city in western Massachusetts, located along the Westfield River about 10 miles west of Springfield. Known as the "Whip City" for its historical role as a major center of buggy whip manufacturing in the 19th century, Westfield today is home to Westfield State University and Barnes Regional Airport. The city blends its industrial heritage with a mix of residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and outdoor recreation areas along the river and nearby hills.
