Haverhill is a mid-sized city of about 67,000 residents located along the Merrimack River in northeastern Massachusetts, approximately 30 miles north of Boston. Once a major shoe manufacturing center in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the city has transformed into a diverse community that blends historic industrial architecture with modern development. Haverhill High School, founded in 1831, is one of the oldest public high schools in the United States.
