Lynn is a diverse coastal city of about 95,000 residents located approximately 10 miles north of Boston on Massachusetts Bay. Once a major center of shoe manufacturing in the 19th century, Lynn has evolved into a multicultural community with significant immigrant populations and ongoing revitalization efforts in its downtown and waterfront areas. Classical High School, founded in 1852, is one of the oldest public high schools in the United States and has a long tradition of preparing Lynn students for college.
