Westford is an affluent suburban town in northern Middlesex County, located about 30 miles northwest of Boston. The town developed from an agricultural community in the 18th century into a prosperous residential area, particularly after the technology boom along Route 128 and Interstate 495. Westford Academy, founded in 1792, is one of the oldest continuously operating public high schools in the United States.
