Turners Falls is a village within the town of Montague in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, situated along the Connecticut River. The area developed as an industrial center in the 19th century around a major hydroelectric dam and canal system, which still generates power today. The Gill-Montague Regional School District serves both Montague and the neighboring town of Gill, a smaller rural community across the river.
