Chicopee is a mid-sized city in western Massachusetts, situated along the Connecticut River just north of Springfield in the Pioneer Valley. Originally known for its manufacturing heritage—particularly the Chicopee Falls and textile mills—the city has evolved into a diverse residential and commercial center. Chicopee is home to Westover Air Reserve Base, one of the largest Air Force facilities in the Northeast, which has been a significant part of the community since World War II.
